A company's financial statements are considered the main source of information when analyzing the financial position of the firm. These statements, however, represent a snapshot, which only captures past business results from a given reporting period. Accounting analysis does not exhaust the full potential of valuating a company's financial position; it is just the beginning of the process, which will eventually lead to making informed management decisions.

This course it designed on the premise that the financial position of the company should be judged with a view of future activities and on the basis of a comparison with other similar enterprises from the respective industry sector. In this regard, analysis will allow for 1) in-time spotting of problem areas related to the use of resources, inventories, long-term assets etc.; 2) identifying potential credit-worthiness problems; 3) forecasting of the company`s future cash flows etc.
The objective of the course is to acquaint participants with the various opportunities for a comprehensive evaluation of the financial position of the firm with a view of the specific constraints which exist in the local Bulgarian context. Having completed the course, participants will be able to identify problems and take appropriate and timely action for overcoming them. We believe that with the knowledge gained participants will be in a position to assist the management functions within their companies related to planning, forecasting, and financial controls of business activities.
